Another small computer problem

Seems like all I do is fight with this thing. Now it's whatever thingy controls the jpegs and a lot of the graphics in the scrapbooking kits from my friends. Needless to say, I haven't done much in the way of scrapbooking. Got to get my Grandson the IT Guru to 'remote into my computer' and see what he thinks.

My little 'nucleus family' has found (it fell into our lap) a new place to live with everyone of us having our own bedroom. It's in pretty nasty shape and Grand daughter is going to be doing the painting with a friend of hers after she washes the smoke covered walls. I've picked 'seafoam green' for my room and I've ordered Sage colored curtains for the two windows in the front. Haven't decided on the window that faces the side yard yet because it's going to be the window where I put Mrs Beasley's window sitter. Even if she has no claws I'll bet if she tried hard enough she'd rip something up.

I'm going to see if the Knights of Columbus will loan me another hospital bed.
It shouldn't be a big problem and maybe I can get them to take the ramp.  I'd prefer to give it to a veteran but so far none have come forward.

Anyway,  I've taken up crocheting with the ribbon stuff and making those scarves you see the ladies wearing these days. Pretty good at that but I've know how to crochet for years...just never did with the ribbons.  And then my daughter who was in the bus accident turned me on to 'adult coloring' books. They are very relaxing and I enjoy doing them.  Here's a couple of the pictures I've colored:
I did this one with a lot of permanent markers and some Gel Pens. Took a couple of days.

This one was fun. It's part markers and part gel colors but the cat didn't have a line down her face. I put that there. I love doing these pics. You can find the books on Amazon and here in the U.S. they are now at Hastings.
And here are a couple of pictures I managed to get done before the software or whatever it is that's wrong with this PC. Maybe it'll fix itself when I get the new Windows 10, in a couple of weeks.
From our Colorado trip...taking Dani home from her stay in the hospital. She's doing better but she's still only working 1/2 days and using the walker. The blow to her head probably is making her Vertigo worse than before. Kit is 'Daisy Chain' by Twilight Scraps.

The 3 little girls who were swimming in the pool but I made it look like they were at a beach. Kit is 'Smell the Sea' by Studio Manu.

My thanks to both of these ladies who do such beautiful work. And I can't wait to get back to making pics with a new kit by Kyra at Russian Dutch Heart and another one by Miriam's Scraps. I'm having withdrawal.

Hugs to all and have a great week ahead.  I'm staying inside...we're expected to have 107 up to 112 degrees all week. I'm not going out in it!!

  1. It is sooo frustrating having problems at the computer, not knowing how they got there, and more not being able to fix it. Hope your grandson can make all things right again soon.
Oh you are going to have windows 10 soon??? I am very curious about it, there is still the offer for free download soon, but I am not sure if I will do it. Hate to loose my windows 7,
So I love to know what you think of the new windows. Please let me know!!

I know of the new "hype"of adult coloring books. We can buy them in bookstores, fonr one, and I looked into them and they are quite intriguing. Only are the "markers"color proof?? Normally markers tend to loose color after time. So isn;t it better to use old-fashioned coloring pencils?? Or am I behind and dont know anything about it anymore LOL?
Well, hope you are having a lovely time now although you have to deal with really high temperatures at the mment. I like it nice and warm, but I have l limit for it, like about 25 C.
    Then it still is nice.
    Till next time, lady,
    Sending a hug
    Kyra

    1. I guess I'll be getting the Free Windows 10 at the end of July when it's released. I've got one reserved but I haven't heard from them.

  2. Hello dear! Glad you are getting settled in your new "digs" and so sorry about your computer woes. I just hate that and am so glad I have a "guru" to turn to! Hope yours is fixed real soon. I am using GIMP for my scrapping (free download version of Photoshop) you might try it. If you know PS you will pick up GIMP quickly.
I hope your weather cools a bit for you, I understand loving the AC....mine is not because of COPD, but just DO NOT LIKE HOT WEATHER...the Texas heat is just about unbearable when the humidity creeps into the 100+ temps. We haven't hit the triple digits yet, officially, but with the humidity added in...the index feels like 100! So, I get to do some scrapping as I soak up the AC too! ROFL! I have filled my blog (and Facebook) and even have time to make some freebies to cover Miriam's Scraps while she takes summer off!
I hope you and yours enjoy the 4th weekend and celebrate our Independence...making lots of memories to share when you can get back to scrapping. Enjoy looking at the coloring pages too, I may have to check into that IF I CAN STAY OFF MY IPAD reading books! LMBO! Hugs to ya my friend. Mat

  3. I've got the major problem fixed. Thanks Mat for the info on GIMP & Photo Shop. I've just downloaded them and will start messing around with them as soon as I clean up the two email programs I use.

I'll check the blogs and Miriam's site and then get busy with all the pics I have sitting in limbo!! Thank you for all the goodies you send our way.

    1. GIMP didn't work for me. Don't know why but I'll give it another shot if I can't retrieve my software from Charlie's house. Hugs and thank you's for the new QP from Miriam's new kit.
